Weekend

Saturday was hot and breezy here in Ajax, did laundry and cleaned and vacuumed then went out with Marion my girlfriend, did some shopping and lunch then back home, finished off the vacuuming and read and watched TV. not much else to do and no one home to talk to, Dan away as usual to Ottawa and Serena away to boyfriend.
 Went to bed 10 pm.
Sunday was more of the same , painted center hall bathroom doing touch ups were Dan allegedly repaired  things of course ,  re stained bamboo carpet in family room on the deck ,  watered plants and watched tv.
Later made my self hamburger and sat on deck to read a magazine , came in watched more tv, then showered and went to bed.
Going for a walk to the lake maybe run into someone to talk to, its pretty boring when there 's no one to exchange a word with.
Going to sign up at the rec center as well.

Alone again naturally

The runny man has gone off to Ottawa  with those people, my daughter has gone off to Bradford for the boyfriend,I have stayed put as usual.
Well  it seems sometimes the best laid plans never get to happen, was supposed to see sex and the city , was dressed and ready to go but work called , so poor Marion who'd been up since 6 had to work till 3 in the afternoon, She needed to take care of Hope her dog and chill and that's fine ,I called Donna and went out for a quick ice coffee came home and passed out on the coach till 11 pm then went to bed.Basically running around to get things done so one could go out and then doesn't.t wears you out.
Weird thing the stereo int he dining-room came on as I was going up to bed, came back down and turned it off. Then the dinning room lite came on , I think there is a power surge somewhere.
Boo!

A little Sicilian history concering my village Termini Imerese

Short Story No. 4: There are many stories involving King Ferdinando di Borbone. One is about two Sicilian farmers, one from Trabia and one from Termini Imerese, both towns located in province of Palermo. When the King traveled through Trabìa, a farmer offered him a bucket of figs and while waiting to receive something in return, the King offended said to him: "By giving me this bucket of figs, do you think I am a poor starving person?" and had his guards cast him away. This news spread very fast and when the King traveled through Termini Imerese, a cleverer farmer approached the King and offered him a bucket of pears, declaring: "A gran signori, pìcciulu prisenti!/To a great man, a small gift". The king liked those kind words so much that not only did he thank the farmer, but also gave him a bag full of golden coins. He was a French King from the Boubon line of Louie the 14th

Druge jobs that never go away.

Had to clean all the bathrooms the other day and do 6 loads of laundry no towels left in the linen closet after Serena and Dave showered 3 billion times during the weekend , along with dusting and reorganizing etc..I got to have a lovely luke warm spritz.
Today vacuumed the downstairs and then will wash the floors after Serena gets up, then will vacuum upstairs.
First I will put on the air conditioner.
Peg I know you will go in the pool , how great it that , I'll throw a glass of cold water on myself on the deck.

The Unusuall Suspects Dinner and Dance..There was a whole lota shaking going on!

Dinner in Port Perry can only be described as an event any time it happens , its never dull always fun and way too much fabulous food, followed by singing and dancing and general murder and mayhem, sans the Murder part. The elusive Mr. D was on deck along with his lovely daughter Genevieve{ please excuse if I misspelled}.
Elle était une belle jeune femme charmante et très douce!Drinks were a plenty as was conversation and then the mayhem began.
Neil and Jerry the keepers of the barbecue flame had some minor problems but  due to Jerry 's intuitive  thinking ans Neil concurred  they were fixed, then Mr. D commenced with the plate dropping Op ah, which led to singing in the kitchen by the Twixie Chicks, 2 sang one not so much , yes that was me, tone deaf.James Taylor and Carol King  gotta love that music.
Dinner was served and the paparazzi arrived without invitations, any shots there fore seen on face book have all been duped!
More wine and laughs Backus would have fit right in, then a musical interlude of various music styles { thanks Gen for introducing us to them}
Later it was outside and the wine flowed and the glasses were raised and more singing along with Mr. Marley and the Wailers not to mention some funky rap and hard rock, the piece di resistance  Lynole Ritchie who sent Mr.D dancing on the ceiling. This caused the lovely Gem's wine glass to literally leap up and kill itself.
After cleaning up, desert was served ala Maya Angelou Banana Pie, Yummy.
Dan and I left under a bridge of music and dance led by Mr.D and a conga line of f the deck , were we drove off  into the dark night and I am positive the real hardy party was still going on.

Happy love thursday,,,yeah you heard right

Last Saturday night was my sister Lucy's husbands birthday ,God that's a mouth full!
He turned 40, yes he is younger than herself. It was surprise, which went off brilliantly .Not that hes younger the party.
Good time was had by all.
Also I  was  going through face book when who should appear but someone who is called David Meaner.

His picture looks like he's been held up as a hostage... then I should talk I look like a blond Chinese person.
LOL 8o).
No contact was made ,nor will be, seeing him once in a blue moon is enough .
Last night I went Home depot and bought a garden flag with 4 red lady bugs on it , cute,  they charged me 2.00
it had the stand as well, hey I'm not complaining.
Consider this the rubber paving stones of last week which were 3.49 each suddenly jumped to 9.99 each wanted 6 came home with nil.
THERE IS SOMETHING LOOPY GOING ON IN THAT STORE .
I will now go clean the bathroom.
Also, this lady who works with Dan saw me limping cause my other leg knee is acting up fluid, so she came over with this liniment, the throbbing is gone doesn't hurt to get out sitting position nor roll over in bed, amazing . It 's high in Caspian which is an anti inflammatory ingredient and it costs 25.00
as soon as I get the name I'm ordering it and will pass that info on.

Toddler turns forty and holding pattern

Lucy's husband Todd turned 40 the other night , she threw a surprise birthday bash for him at a bar the Four corners in Whitby.
It was great to see so many familiar faces and some unfamiliar ones as well.
There was great conversations and tasty food and drinks with lots of ice .
The ice you need when your having a flash..........drink ....crunch ice...............
My cousin Alex told me an easy way to cut and paste photo's.
My cousin Johnny was there and Sue  but Pat was sick coming down with something.
Then Robert showed up and so did Joe and Lisa , as did Andrew Pett Shelly was under the weather so she did not come.
The Birthday cake had the funniest picture of Todd at about 2 years old , was a hoot.
His parents were there and  his sister Dawn and step brothers as well.

Got home around 12 am and went for a tea and then bed . woke up at six this morning.
Had a lay down on the couch till 7.30 then had a tea and some cereal then banana and then 2 scrambled eggs no toast .
Gave my side table another coat of white paint in the family room and then sat out in the sun and sprayed the handles of the table black.
Its going to be a beautiful day and Aaron is in Aruba of f the coast of Venezuela with Donna I know having a great time .
I am thankful to God and all spirits who helped in the cancellation of his flight to Iceland, however I feel awful that Jason could 't get to go to Aruba because they hike the prices almost to double for one person.

It was a mother of a weekend!

For scoare and seven years ago mothers day was played out at my lovely sisterlaw Barb's House, we brought food and darnk and had a lovely afternoon.

Barb is gone and so has the joy of getting together, although sometimes  various  illness and or coordination don't  allow it to come together, but none the less the joy is gone.
  I miss it very much.

Sock it to You

Can you believe that hurdling a socket across 3 feet of family room is a sign of aggression.
Apparently in Ajax , in my house according to Mr. your" So aggressive "at me any an and every opportune moment he can, throws  this comment in, said to me while I was folding laundry.
He ended his tirade with that my son and daughter also think it too.
Then he went upstairs to slam the door after I took the laundry up and came back down.
So I in mature fashion took his Boston Marathon tea cup and slammed it into the sink , were unfortunately it didn't shatter.
No one spoke to each other again that night, however at 2.30 in the morning he rolled over and fell out of bed, I felt vindicated, but alas he blamed me for having thrown the covers over on him,
WELL IF HE DIDN'T WEIGH 12 OZES THEN MAYBE HE COULD FIGHT OFF THE COVERS. LOL 8)
