These runners were made for walking , through the woods down the windey path

We finally went for a walk to Rotary park not today but on Thursday, along the beach trail which is lovely as there is a great deal of tree's and its shaded.I walked according to Mr. Pedometer 3 kilometers that morning.
There was a brisk wind from across the lake and it was perfect, gave you a lot of energy compared to the previous hot and humid days.
Saw a path which led off to a secluded beach were apparently it seemed someone was living they had some old lawn chairs and a fire pit and a stack of wood near the fire pit , then I saw a pair of track pants peaking beneath some very low overhanging tree's and told my husband there was someone hiding there as track pants don't stand on their own with black and white runners attached to them.
We casually left the beach so that who ever thought we didn't see him or her.

Its sad to think that someone has to hid away so people don't know they don't have a place to live , in Ajax you just don't see it as prevalent as in Toronto, although I'm sure its here too and in other areas , we do have soup a kitchen and food banks so we are not immune.

Any how made our way home Dan went to get some cold cuts for lunch I got dropped off at home to ice a sore spot on my knee.

Had a nice lunch a couple of beers and just went about the usual tidy up for me and Dan went to do some running organization stuff.Once again this happened during the week not today, just to clarify.Dan is lake placid today for some tri race.

This is the week that was! No I am not Walter Cronkite

This week has been going fast went Swimming on Tuesday for a few hours at the rec center really gave my hips a work out also did my therapy that day as well.
Worked Wednesday morning then went shopping with Dan for Italian ingredients at Longos they have a vast selection of stuff , Italian food basics you can't find at other supermarkets.
Had a little visit with my mom at my sisters house brought her some tiny eggplant to put into her sauce and Italian squash so she could make a squash soup and some rapini for lots of calcium.
Tuesday night went for a drive to Shoal point in Ajax to look at the extension of the bike and walk way trails very nice lots of benches in the shade there of coarse all  the she-she  poo poo houses are there nothing less than 4,000 square feet.
Last night was quite Dan's sister dropped in for a bit and left , did some cleaning and then a shower, watched a bit of a movie but fell asleep.
Want o go for a walk down at Rotary park this morning get Dan to drive down and then start walking.

Sorry and and Old maid old games but still fun

Last night drove to my sisters to have visit and say hi to my mom who is there for the duration of this heat wave.
During the course of the evening my niece Marina asked if I would play old maid with her, it was a fun game and we had a nice time lots of giggles.
Then we moved on to Sorry , which turned into a laugh a minute ,what with practicing her french and mine and trying to catch her faster than lightening movements across the board ,  I'm pretty sure she skipped over a few spots.
With all the guffawing we attracted my husband , who was told and I quote" we are playing "Sorry" uncle Dan and" Sorry" you can't play"This started more laughing on our part not  to mention Marina was snorting , this made me laugh even more which then brought her Dad in and then explaining it to him made matters all the more silly.
After the second game we had to leave to pick up Serena at a pool party so we said our good byes to mom and all and were on our way.

Its a beaytiful day

The sun rose at about 6am this morning and there's a slight breeze,I saw a squadron of dragon flies go by the back deck , I am sure looking for those nasty mosquito's who have dined on my feet this week while I was attempting to garden in the early mornings.
Calamine lotion  pink is a color I forced to use liberally across my toes.
I'm finally getting a few hours of work for today but it does not look to promising for the rest of the summer as my boss's grandchild is signed up for all kinds of camps and so she does not need me to come in.
I will be putting in an application to Solby's for cashier come August, I need something that generates some cash for me,a few hours do not help top pay a Visa and Sears bills.
Also I don't like for Dan to carry that extra  on his back as well, as hes helping out my daughter till she starts her job, it will take her a few weeks more until she can contribute to her own bills, phone and school .
Have a great day and watch for those pesky bugs!

Away for the weekend

We had a spectacular time away, had fun and swam and sunned and ate and vegged out.
Lake Mississauga  in the Kawartha's is beautiful and clean .
The cottage was unbelievable more like a home with views that were superb from all three levels.
Dan and I went for a canoe ride and then he went kayaking and did some water skiing with our neighbors ...neighbors. We swam and enjoyed a boat ride around the area , went into some lovely coves and bays, Dan also swam across the bay to the point followed by Micheal our neighbors son on his Kayak.Never swim alone.
Dan cannot stay put for too long.
Came home Sunday late in the afternoon , unpacked and watched some TV while doing laundry.
It was a " great weekend" as Dan kept repeating  over and over there and at home. Some things never change.

Happy News!

Last night as some of you know my son Aaron proposed to his girlfriend Donna and she accepted and they are now engaged .We are very happy for them both!
My husband informed me last night that he already knew that Aaron was going to pop the question while they were away.
All the important people in  our lives were informed cause good news should always be shared with those we love.
So the rain and thunder for today does not bring me down at all!
Hope all have a safe and very happy weekend I know I will, I will be toasting to the happy couple , I do hope that Donna managed to get a hold of her mom last night to share their news.Thank you  all for your good wishes.
We are blessed to have so many wonderful friends and family! !

Vampire bugs ...that feed while we sleep

Yesterday during  the extreme heat and then the rain which made everything even more stagnent , the air had no movement what so ever. Those little hungry mosquitoes  made it into the house and where hitting everyone in it.,
I got bit 3 times  in places like the small of your back behind your elbow and the inside of my foot.
My Mom  on her stomach, behind  her thigh , any where you can't get to scratch.
calamine lotion is on the kitchen table,  for quicker access.
Mom is going to my sisters tonight for the weekend as we are away tomorrow to our neighbors cottage that they recently purchased this  last year.We have seen pictures look forward to seeing it in person.
Serena will be home as her boyfriend will be dropping in for a visit.
Gotta go do groceries  and then make a list .but some bug spray, that off dry spray looks promising.

The air is heavy and hot today so keep coo l any way you can..Feels like Florida.

Tueday Physio and My daughters school problems

Today was great morning got up feeling good went to bed at 10 pm. last night.
My daughter revealed on her first day of summer school that she hasn't a clue about what was being taught about, her teacher said she should have started this course of Science math at the grade 9 level and then worked her way up to the 11, she feels this is beneath her and that perhaps she has a memory problem as she can't seem to retain what was taught.
I of coarse said logically I would have taken pr cursor courses  not just jump into something I've never even heard about.
Then I don't ever support her and have no idea what she is going thru, GOD give me Patience!
When someone is determined not to listen at all because apparently she know everything it just becomes argumentative
I never  had a problem with math, I simply went to after school classes and extra classes in the library cause I was bored!.Never did figure out what formula applied to which problems, just figured my own way of getting the answer {the extremely long way} but it was correct.
Drama is her name she rules supreme...god bless her little pointed head.

Now the Physio part went like clock work  and it was good. The End

Guess who came to dinner ....but was thrown out without a cigerette or a blinfold!

Dan I drove drove up to Port Perry and touted around town then went to the Nutty Choclatier for Ice cream strolled down the street towards the lake to sit in the shade of the Park ,which is lovely there, Plenty of shade all the benches are situated in the blazing sun however.Turned round and made our way up again, went into a little shop I frequent and picked up a great shot of the Coliseum on a stretcher frame looks like a huge post card ..Fab....and a Sunny dull mustard colored impish face that looks Romanesque  that is winking he was the only boy face the others were woman.

Called Peg and asked if its all right if drop in-our way out of town,.Gracious as always , stayed just a little over an hour ,cool beers and  had a nice visit even a few blissful moments of toes in the pool while Mr. D admired Mr. N's new mountain all terrain bike.
Home to make dinner for mom, got the BBq going set the table and then put the salmon on and meat for me and mom when Serena came down to inform us that a bird was flying in our hall up stairs how the hell it got in I have no idea, had to have been when some left the front door ajar to put something in the garage.
Mr. D  caught in a towel and set it free no cigarette just the blindfold.
At last the grill was once again going and dinner was served  I went to remove a piece of food from Mr. D's plate which had a small piece of frittata on it  and ended up spilling his glass of  red wine which dripped through the tiles of the table in to my shoes.
Mr. D went into the house mumbling some very rude things and I went to wash my shoes.
When we both got back mom had finished her dinner and announced it had been very exciting , and that to Mr. D spilled wine means good fortune but spilled oil is bad omen.
Dinner although not involving a Mr. Poitier or Spencer Tracy and Ms. Hepburn certainly had a lot to Drama to it.

Eye spy with my wood stained eye.................goop and pain

Yesterday was like any ordinary bizzareo world day, but because it was going so perfectly something had to throw a wrench into it!
I'd just finished putting one coat of stain on top of the kitchen table which I thought was just flat black paint but it wasn't, any how as i place the lid on top of the can it slipped out of my fingers and of coarse it plopped one edge down into the liquid and the can was full so it splattered  right into my face and into my left eye.
Let the screaming begin and burning luckily as I was standing by the kitchen sink  and turned the tap on full blast and started rinsing , my neighbor rushed over as he was in his kitchen as did his son who is in EMS training at this moment , they as well as Serena called 911 , at the hospital they were trying to read the label which conveniently had a sale sticker over the hazard area of the can and what the chemicals were in it.So the had to call poison control for info............then it was 45minutes with this contact lens funnel thing over my eye ball with an entire bottle of IV saline solution to constantly wash over it, my knees where shaking the whole time not to mention my kidneys really needed a bathroom but you could not move. After it was removed an eye exam to see if there was any thing left in the eye or behind it which required they freeze your eye, it seemed all clear except for a small cut in the upper corea which the doctor said should heal on it own , I'll get a second opnion from my eye doctor just to make sure and some eye antibiotic's  to prevent infection.
It was a crappy day but thankfully the damage was minimal.

The lesson here is  throw out the old and  or give it away  and or buy new screw this trying to fix crap over! So not worth it.
